Merry Christmas!
We had a wonderful and quiet day. I actually spent very little money this year and kids seem to enjoy it as much as they normally do! I am really trying to get away from material things in life and live and do for each other! I want my kids to be greatful for what they have and not think they should have more and more. Next year my goal is to add a family in need to our list. To see he 'joy' on there face as well. Rusty and I swap ONE gift with each other. We did not spend over 20.00 on each other. He got a shirt and I got perfum! We both love it. Kids got ONE thing they wanted. The other things where clothes and simple things.
Here Courtney loving her gameboy!

Courtney and Joshua really got into the holiday and loved it! Dayton was over stimulated and was beyond out of control! He was really out of sync yesterday and today! For his sake.... I am so thrilled Christmas is behind us and we WELCOME 2007!!!

Christmas......
I took the kids around the block to see Christmas lights and all. Who guess Santa was there! We have seen him more than once this yr... this was last time before he heads back to North Pole. Courtney was thrilled, Joshua over whelmed with lights and Dayton said NO THANK YOU! He stayed put in the car! Would not budge!

Reflecting Back
I often wonder how our lives are different from each other. We all are busy and never have time to stop and breath! I was 19yr when Courtney was born. I thought life was cool and be a breeze. I am not sure what I was thinking back then. I do recall that I would have Courtney, finish school and work in accounting. Amazing how the day she was born my life changed. I recall sleeping alot after she was born. I recall always being at my moms. Finding excuses not to take her home for 6months. Here I sit 13yrs later.. regretting that the most in my life. Why couldn't I take her home at night and love her. WHY? I guess I was scared! Too scared to admit it!
Not sure what changed in me... but I took her home and became the best mom I could be for her! She deserved it, as well as me and Rusty. Our family grew together. My job was alot different than I ever planned. I stayed home with her and spent many hours in the Drs office and many hours in hospital. I went to work when she was 3yrs old, at a local furiture store and LOVED it! Worked one year and we got pregnat with Dayton. I was laid off from my job. We surived barely. I wanted to go back to school and take medical asst. Hmmm little did I know, I bypassed school and jumped on the medical train with Dayton from birth till he was about 2 1/2yr. I then knew I was to be a SAHM for the 2 kids both where born with DS and medical issues.
I met a friend online! We where pals for several yrs. She kept talking to me about fostering and adoptions. The more I prayed the more the door opened. I prayed for Rusty to open his heart once more for a beautiful child. Wow, did the Lord above have a hand in it all! We got a call there was a baby 4 weeks old needed a home. All in the phone conversation, was he was a 4 week male, needed heart surgery and his birthmom wanted a open adoption. My heart fluttered, I called Rusty that instant. He said, sure.. find out more. He was asking me does he have DS too? My heart dropped, I said, you know..she didn't say! Hmmm I was so excited about bringing him home.. that was not on my mind! I curious how muched he weighed and color of his hair and mostly his health! I found out the next day, he did have DS. Did it matter. NOT one bit! Within in a month, he was in my arms! His sweet little face! How could this BM hand him to me and ask me to raise her own child! How in the world could I ever repay her for one of the most wonderful GIFT I have ever received! Here we are 4 yrs later.. the memerioes so fresh and the love is greater than I can ever imagine!
I filled my dreams of becoming a teacher, accountant and medical asst! Just without the physcial degree and pay! My pay is better though!
What brought on all this. A friend online,is going through the process of adoption and it wonderful feeling not many people get to experiance. It is alot different than giving birth to a child! The love is great for both.. just a totally different love! I keep my distant from hearing about kids need homes and looking for a family. If it was me, I would adopt every child under the sun! I keep praying mabey one day we will adopt one more and Rusty can also open his heart once again!I know we both don't want a tiny one again... but it amazes me how many kids are 7 and up waiting for a forever family! If it is meant to be.. I trust the Lord will lead me the way and open the door for us! For now.... our family is complete with all 7 of us! Yep.. 3 kids ,mom and dad and 2 dogs!
Just reflecting back......

She is doing better this year and actually listening which is a change for her! But that a change with any teenager! The teachers are always bragging how wonderful she is and what a funny sense of humor she has! I have to agree!

My daughter.... WOW

No words to express what or how I feel about her!She makes me have alot of emotions. Today is a wonderful day... how grown up she is! How she can act mature when she wants!!! I pray for a BRIGHT FUTURE for her!!!
December!
Well December finally arrived! What does it mean! According to Courtney, jumping up and down!!! SANTA CLAUS!
She so excited... on has a gameboy and scence it on her mind! Nothing else. Hahaha she forgot about the computer. We plan to get it online for her and install a sound card.. she will be all good to go!
Dayton still not getting it.. as for Joshua who wow's everytime he see lights come on! He loves the tree!
The outside all decorated and bright!
I personally love this time of the year! The lights and giving! Singing and dancing Christmas songs. The little get together party's. The childrens face when they see Santa. It really brightens my heart to no end!
This year we decided to get a real tree!We will go back to the artifical tree next year due to Pine smell gives me major headaches! It is tampering off some!
I stringed 400 lights on it...few decorations on the tree and around the house.
